Studying at SheffieldHere at Sheffield we offer first class teaching, facilities and extra curricular activities that will boost your C.V. You can get involved in mooting, the Ed Bram student law society and the Howard League student society. Our students also have the opportunity to be part of our pro bono team, student ambassadors and student colloquia facilitators networks. Students are taught traditionally through seminars and lectures, we also supplement that provision through reseach led teaching, with Inquiry Based Learning, Podcasts and Electronic workbooks. Students are taught in seminar rooms and lecture theatres with all modern technologies. Bartolomé House the home of the School of Law has excellent facilities for our student community. Our undergraduates, postgraduates and research students also have access to their own computer rooms. We have a student common room and café area and many quiet areas for study. |
Undergraduate ProgrammesWe offer seven undergraduate programmes, six of which are LLB degrees - qualifying law degrees for the purposes of leading straight into further legal training. We have exchange links with over 40 top universities around the world. We encourage all LLB students to take the opportunity to study abroad for a year (in English). For LLB Law (European and International) this is a compulsory element of the programme. Our LLB Law with Language programmes also incorporate a year abroad studying in French, German or Spanish. Our three-year LLB Law and Criminology course is one of the leading programmes of its kind in the UK. We also offer a non-law degree, BA Social Policy and Criminology, taught jointly with the Department of Sociological Studies. |
Postgraduate StudiesOur range of postgraduate taught programmes include Masters degrees in specialised areas of Law and Criminology as well as the one year law "conversion" course, the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) and the two year qualifying MA Law degree . For those interested in becoming a practising solicitor, we are the only Russell Group University in England to offer the Legal Practice Course (LPC).
