Academic Profile

I joined the School of Law in September 2012 as a Lecturer in Law.

I studied Law at the University of Toulouse (France). I then worked as a Lecturer at the same University until completing a PhD on European Contract Law in December 2008. Between 2009 and 2012, I worked at the University of Luxembourg as a postdoctoral researcher in European Private Law. I have taught different aspects of French, Comparative and EU Law at the Universities of Toulouse and Luxembourg.

My main areas of research are European Private Law, Comparative Law (mainly in the Law of Obligations), and Private International Law. I am particularly interested in the interaction between legal norms in the context of the Europeanisation of law.

Qualifications

Teaching and Learning

The modules I teach all comprise a comparative and/or international dimension and address in one way or another the challenge of legal diversity. I use these elements to initiate and stimulate reflection and debates about legal institutions and concepts.

I strongly believe that teaching is a reciprocal relationship and that interaction is of the essence. My teaching is informed by my research and aims at enabling my students to structure their knowledge but also to question legal concepts and rules in order to develop the skills they will need in their professional life.

The modules I teach are:

Undergraduate Postgraduate
French Legal Language (Convenor) International Sale of Goods: Law and Practice (Convenor)
French Law and Legal System (Convenor) EU Internal Market Law (Convenor)
European Union Law
Principles of Comparative Law
Conflict of Laws

Research Interests
