Academic Profile
After completing my Master’s studies in criminology at the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium) I worked as a research assistant at the Catholic University of Leuven and the National Institute for Criminalistics and Criminology (Belgium) on projects concerning victim policy and restorative justice. In 2011, I obtained a PhD in criminology at the University of Montreal (Canada). For my doctoral research I looked at victim satisfaction with restorative justice and its relation to the procedural justice model. I was then involved in a study on adolescent dating violence as a postdoctoral fellow at the department of sexology at the University of Quebec in Montreal (Canada). In 2013, I moved to Sheffield to join the School of Law at the University of Sheffield on a Marie Curie Intra-European Fellowship on a research project regarding victims of crime and their justice motives in restorative justice.
