Introduction to evaluation resources

This set of resources makes available advice and customisable tools for those that are preparing for or involved in the evaluation of learning and teaching (L&T). The resources are intended to be dynamic, to be improved using feedback from those that use them, and expanded as further need for support is identified.

Evaluation of teaching practice is also one of the key areas of activity identified for academic staff in the UK Professional Standards Framework for teaching and learning support in higher education.

This topic is included in the University's professional development provision for L&T, but it is also appropriate that additional resources be developed and made available to support academic staff and professional support staff in this activity.

The resources have been developed with the assumption that users are likely to need support for one or more of the following evaluation activities:-

  1. evaluation of a self-initiated curriculum development;
  2. evaluation of a University funded L&T development project (e.g. LTDG Scheme project);
  3. ongoing quality enhancement of L&T.
