Senate Awards for Excellence in Learning & Teaching
On behalf of the Selection Panel of the Senate Awards for Excellence in Learning and Teaching, the Panel Chair and Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Learning and Teaching, Professor Paul White is delighted to announce the winners in this year's Scheme. Please click on the right hand link.
The Senate Awards Scheme recognises University staff for excellence in learning and teaching. The Scheme particularly rewards those who have a demonstrated impact on student learning alongside sharing what they do with colleagues and having a profile in the broader University or educational community. While the majority of our Fellows are inspirational or innovative teachers, this Scheme values sharing good practice and considers other contributions to learning as well where there is demonstrated impact on the student experience. The Scheme is highly competitive and some Fellows have succeeded after receiving feedback and advice and then applying again a later year.
The Award/Fellowship
The Scheme awards the title of "Senate Award Fellow" for life and winners become members of the Fellows Network. Awards include a dinner with the Vice Chancellor, membership in the Fellows Network, formal presentation of your certificate at a Graduation Ceremony as well as a grant (which may include a personal cash prize) to be spent on learning and teaching activities.
