Student Feedback

Without student feedback, the University would be unable to ensure the constant development and improvement of the educational experience for future and current students. There are many ways that feedback is sought from students, from dedicated focus groups looking at a specific issue, to Periodic Reviews of departments where students are asked to reflect on their experience, to module evaluation forms.

However, the most common form of gaining student feedback is through surveys, in particular the National Student Survey (NSS).

The NSS is completed by students in their final year of undergraduate study, and its results have a huge effect. It informs prospective students' views on whether they want to study a particular course or at a particular institution, and it also allows the University to identify areas that require improvement.

The NSS is a great opportunity to make your views count and use your experience to benefit future students, as the results of those who complete the NSS in the past have benefited your experience.

The Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES) asks students about their experience of taught postgraduate programmes  in order to help the University to identify areas of strength as well as areas requiring attention. A variety of topics are covered such as personal development, quality of teaching, assessment and feedback and learning resources.
