Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES) 2012
We care what our students think
We're always looking for feedback so we can further improve what we do. To help us understand what we've done well and where we can do better, we're currently inviting postgraduate students to take part in the Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey.
It's quick and easy to complete, taking about ten minutes of your time. Information is submitted securely and anonymously, and the results are confidential to the University.

What is the Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey?

The Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES) is run in collaboration with the Higher Education Academy (HEA). The results help us to identify where we are doing well as well as areas for improvement. It asks about your experience of your taught postgraduate programme with questions covering the following topics:
- quality of teaching and learning
- assessment and feedback
- dissertation advice and support
- organisation and management of your programme
- learning resources
- skills and personal development
- career prospects and professional development
- your motivations for undertaking postgraduate study
Who can take part in the survey?
You are eligible if you are completing your postgaduate taught programme during the current calendar year i.e. between 1 January 2012 and 31 December 2012.
85 UK universities are taking part this year. The survey has been running since 2009 at which time 25 universities took part, followed by 77 in 2010 and 80 in 2011. No league tables are produced; the ethos of the survey is very much about informing educational enhancement. We participated in two previous PTES surveys in 2009 and 2010, the results from which have enabled us to make improvements to our postgraduate offer across the university.
