Pre-print archives

Pre-prints archives, also referred to as e-print archives are collections of electronic research papers published online before they are formally published in traditional journals. Pre-prints can be research papers that have been submitted for dissemination and review among peers prior to presentation at conferences or publication, or papers that have already been reviewed, accepted and submitted for publication. Listed below are a number of pre-print archives, many of which include a current awareness alerting facility that can be set to send automatic email notification whenever new papers become available in specific subject areas.

arXiv

ArXiv is an e-print service in the fields of physics, mathematics, non-linear science, computer science, and quantitative biology. It is owned, operated and funded by Cornell University and the National Science Foundation.

CERN archive

The CERN scientific information service archive is a collection of electronic pre-prints in the field of particle physics and aims to cover as far as possible all the grey literature in particle physics and its related technologies. The collection contains around 40,000 research articles.

Chemistry Preprint Server

Chemistry Preprint Server is a permanent web archive and distribution medium for the latest research articles in the field of chemistry. To access the service you will first need to register for a ChemWeb member name and password.
