UK data archive
The UK data archive (UKDA) is curator of the largest collection of digital data in the social sciences and humanities in the United Kingdom. The collection includes over 5,000 datasets relating to contemporary and historical society with data acquired from the academic, public, and commercial sectors. UKDA also provides guidance and training on how to manage, store and share data.
UKDA manages the Economic and Social Data Service (ESDS) which currently hosts the UKDA's data catalogue. Staff and students of the University of Sheffield can search the catalogue and download data directly from the Economic and Social Data Service (ESDS) web site after registering with ESDS. More information is available via the link opposite.
Registration
Access to UKDA is freely available via the Internet. In addition, staff and students of the University of Sheffield can download data via the ESDS web site - this requires further registration and subsequent access via MUSE, the University portal.
Access
UKDA is available to Internet users including registered students and staff of the University of Sheffield regardless of location and can be accessed directly from this page by connecting to the UK data archive web site.
