- Your username (e.g. Mep13abc) given at registration will log you in to all University services
- Your university username cannot be changed
- During the on-line registration process you will create your own password for your university computer account
- If you forget your password go to Level 1 IC or contact the CiCS Helpdesk

You need your University username and password to log in to the University web site.
You need to sign in to access University services, including:
- email & other Google Apps
- course materials (MOLE)
- search library resources
- book a PC or group study room
- top up UCard with credit
- get online help & support

When you register, you will be given a UCard and PIN.
If you forget your PIN just go to https://www.shef.ac.uk/cics/password sign in, and follow the instructions.
Don’t lend your UCard to anyone else.
If you lose it, it costs £5 to replace.
You need to have your UCard with you at all times.
You will need it to:
- Enter and exit buildings
- Print and photocopy
- Borrow and request library books
