Knowing what you need Finding it on the shelf

Use the Library catalogue, StarPlus, to locate the materials you need.
Make sure you sign in - click the ‘University members’ button in the top right-hand corner - your name will appear at the top so you’ll know you’re logged in.

Access the reading lists for your modules via MOLE.

Books are arranged in numerical order by shelfmark. These are decimal, so a book with the number 658.1511 would come before 658.4 on the shelf. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, just ask a member of library staff.

Borrowing and returning Requesting
You can use our self-service machines to quickly take out and return library materials. You will need your UCard and PIN.
Ask a member of staff or student ambassador to show you how.

We may email you to return a book if it is wanted by someone else.

Borrowing entitlements and loan periods

If you can’t find a book on the shelf, or if it is out on loan, you can request it. If a book is on loan to someone they can keep it for as long as they wish, unless you request it.
Click the Get It tab, click Request and choose your collection site. If you're not already signed in to StarPlus you'll be prompted to enter your UCard & PIN
Requested books can be collected from the Information Commons 24/7.

If the library does not stock the item you require the InterLibrary Request Service may be able to obtain it via other suppliers.
