Access to eResources for NHS staff

The electronic resources that you are able to access will depend upon which organisation you are employed by/studying with. Organisations purchase a licence for electronic journals, books and databases; either as a "basket" deal or as an individual resource. This licence will generally allow the organisation to give access to its staff and students.

Electronic resources that are purchased by the University of Sheffield are accessible to staff (including those NHS staff with honorary University contracts) and students via MUSE, the University portal. The Find it@Sheffield digital content discovery service provides A to Z searching plus clickable alphabetical browsing of the Library's ejournals and databases collections. eResources are also available via the Library Web pages and StarPlus Library catalogue. For those titles where the publisher permits walk-in access (which is the majority of health related titles), access is provided to NHS registered users in the Health Sciences Libraries at RHH and NGH.

Electronic resources purchased by NHS England are accessible to NHS staff (including those University staff with honorary NHS contracts), via NHS Evidence Journals and Databases. Additional content, purchased at a regional or local level is also available by selecting journals and following the link to my account in the top right of the screen. Athens login is required to access these services

A new feature of StarPlus is Primo Central. This includes thousands of open access articles and over 1 million open access ebooks. To access Primo Central:
