New Seminar Series

Throughout this year (2009-2010), we shall be running a series of lectures co-ordinated by Dr. Dagmar Divjak, in which Centre members from different departments, schools and faculties across the University, will give an overview of some of the research questions and issues in linguistics that they currently find most interesting.
The concept behind this series is to inform us all-particularly postgraduate students interested in potential research topics-about the range and breadth of expertise in linguistics research in Sheffield, and to highlight the possibilites for interdisciplinary research in the future.
The series will formally begin in December (Thursday 17th) with an inaugural lecture by Professor Andrew Linn. However, as a "prequel" to the series, there will be a guest lecture in two weeks' time, on Thursday November 5th, given by Dr. Sabine Stoll (Leipzig), on "Child Directed Speech in Russian, German, English, and Chintang". You are all warmly invited to attend both of these events, and all of the other lectures in the series (from January next year).

Details of all of the lectures in the series can be found by following the link below.
