IJLEG proposes and fosters discussion on the development and application of logistics in the world economy and globalised arena. With the increased complexity and competition in today´s and tomorrow´s supply chain and extended enterprise, logistical systems and technologies play a critical role in ensuring the flow of tangible and intangible goods and information in a production network.

The economics perspective in this context calls for an improved performance assessment, evaluation and modelling of such logistical systems, evolving around issues related to human capital, intellectual capital and knowledge capital. More innovative analysis and better understanding of the complexity in a supply chain are essential in today´s global businesses. Therefore, new and adapted theories, configurable models and frameworks are necessary for supply chain to compete and perform in such a dynamic, complex and evolving environment.
