Become an engaging leader (recruiting 2014)

MSc in Leadership

The MSc in Leadership is available as a 1 year full-time programme or a 2-year part-time programme.

It focuses on the development of leadership skills within the current international context of the changing nature of work. You will learn how to lead in today’s challenging and uncertain times and become an effective and engaging leader.

You will explore established theories of leadership as well as cutting-edge research in areas such as positive organisational behaviour, authentic and entrepreneurial leadership. The programme has a practical focus and includes topics such as leading across cultures, leading for innovation and the management of conflict – all critical to performance in the contemporary workplace.

The programme has three distinct features:

Focus on skill-building and action-learning: Two dedicated modules will focus on building your leadership knowledge and skills through experiential learning, structured self-reflection, team-based exercises and simulations in small group settings. You will refine your skills through applying them in case study and team work as well as through conducting your own independent research project.

Focus on practical relevance: The programme features guest speakers and offers site visits to leading companies as well as public and third sector organisations.

Focus on research-excellence and research-led teaching: The program combines cutting-edge expertise in work psychology with management theory and practice to provide real insights into how to lead successful organisations. Delivered by faculty members from the Management School and the world-renowned Institute of Work Psychology, programme content is informed by both our ground-breaking research and our extensive workplace experience with leaders and organisations in the private, public and third sector.
