He will also provide you with the opportunity to find out about the company’s latest products, such as the 787 Dreamliner passenger plane. Boeing was the founding member of the University of Sheffield's Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre in 2001. Responsible for coordinating all Boeing business activities in the UK, Sir Roger Bone was appointed honorary ambassador for British business by the Prime Minister in 2010. “Boeing has a strong link to the city of Sheffield, especially via the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre. I am looking forward to having the opportunity to update the University and its guests on our work both in the UK and globally, particularly with regard to products and how the company works with global suppliers to bring them to the market. We have several hundred valued suppliers as well as many important customers in the UK and our history here goes back over 70 years. This event will help Boeing demonstrate how the partnership with the UK has developed and how it will continue to flourish in the future,” said Sir Roger Bone, UK President of Boeing. The Management Lecture, now in its 12th year, is an annual event hosted between the University of Sheffield Management School and Sheffield Business School at Sheffield Hallam University. This year, the Lecture is being hosted by The University of Sheffield Management School and is a key event in the Global Manufacturing Festival.
