Kenneth gained a BA in Business Studies at the University of Sunderland and a Masters Degree from Sheffield Hallam University. He worked for four years in public sector accounting on Merseyside and spent several years teaching Accounting in Further Education colleges. He has been a regular visiting lecturer on the CIMA programme foundation and intermediate stages at Sheffield Hallam University.

Research interests

For a teaching-only employee research is voluntary, but Kenneth maintains an interest in the following:

  1. Instructional design in computer-aided learning. He has written a series of interactive materials for the study of introductory accounting
  2. Finance and accounting in the high-tech enterprise sector
  3. Skills mapping in the supply of (and demand for) Accounting and Management undergraduates.

Kenneth has worked on several pieces of curriculum development in accounting education. On of these is the BAIT project on the Bized website – see:

Kenneth is leading an internally funded project aimed at developing the employability skills and professional skills of Sheffield University Management School undergraduates, as required by employers.

Kenneth is a member of the British Accounting Association (Northern Area Group, Education Special Interest Group). He has been an Assistant Editor for 'Bized', the Business Education website
