Staff-Student Forum
The Department Staff-Student Forum has representatives from all groups of staff and students within the Department. It is chaired jointly by Professor John Harding and a student representative and representatives are chosen at the beginning of each academic year. The Committee provides an important channel of communication within the Department. It meets twice each semester and provides a forum for students, through their representatives, to raise questions and concerns about procedures and the teaching of courses within the Department; issues raised may be academic or non-academic. The Committee acts to resolve minor issues, or reports significant matters to either the Departmental Teaching Committee or Staff Meeting as appropriate, or the Faculty of Engineering Student Affairs Committee. In extreme circumstances issues can also be raised directly with the Head of Department.
