Iasmi Sterianou received her MEng in Chemical Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, in 2003, after completing her dissertation on Molecular Beam Epitaxy and its Application on High-Temperature Superconductors. She then did research on bismuth-based perovskites for high temperature piezoelectric applications and received her PhD in Engineering Materials from the University of Sheffield in 2008. She worked for one year on electrophoretic deposition of microwave dielectrics as a research assistant in the department of Materials Science and Engineering in the University of Sheffield. She became a research associate in 2008 and has since been engaged in research on high temperature piezoelectrics and rare-earth doped bismuth ferrite. She has also been involved in teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level and tutoring.
