The team consisting of Dr Lynsey Grieveson, Ms Sara Watkinson and Dr Lucy Lee support the research activities within the Medical School by informing of funding calls, assisting with funding applications and training of the School's researchers.
The mission of the Medical School is to maintain the highest standards of excellence as a research-led department of international standing, whose staff work at the frontiers of academic enquiry and educate students in a research environment.

This society is for postdoctoral staff, contract research staff and anybody interested in issues relating to postdoctoral employment, support and career development.
The Early Career Group was established with membership from the academic staff, post-doctoral researchers, the University of Sheffield Research Office and the Medical School Research Team to respond to these issues by launching a career development programme and assessing its effectiveness.
In line with the University Research Ethics Policy the Medical School has produced its own Ethics Review Process. This applies to all student and staff projects involving human participants, data and tissue, but not the NHS.
The Human Tissue Act 2004 (HT Act) was fully implemented on 1st September 2006 and covers the use of tissue for a number of ‘Scheduled Purposes’ which include research, clinical diagnosis and teaching.
