The world-class research being undertaken at the University of Sheffield generates a wealth of new knowledge, much of which has the potential for licensing to innovative organisations seeking to augment their current activities or diversify their operations.

The responsibility for the protection and licensing of the University's intellectual property (IP) rests with our partner technology transfer organisation.

Fusion IP

The University of Sheffield commercialises its intellectual property via an exclusive 10-year IP pipeline agreement with Fusion IP. By taking a stake in Fusion IP, we are one of the first universities in the UK to commercialise its IP in this way, and is testament to the world-class credentials of Sheffield's research pipeline.
