Corrosion and Protection CentreThe Corrosion and Protection Centre, together with CAPCIS Ltd, is one of the world's largest, academia-based centres dedicated to corrosion and its control. We work closely with partner laboratories within the Department of Engineering Materials which specialise in topic areas such as tissue engineering and magnetic thin films. The Materials Performance Centre (MPC) was launched in 2002 as a strategic research alliance between BNFL and the University of Manchester. The MPC has grown to over 50 researchers including new staff and over 40 PhD students and Research Associates.
