Information for New Postgraduate Students

A very big welcome to the Modern Languages Teaching Centre. We are sure you will enjoy studying with us.

To welcome you to the Department, we are expecting you to attend the introductory meeting which will be held at 10.00a.m. on Monday 17th September 2012. This is an opportunity for you to meet the Postgraduate teaching staff and your fellow students and to talk generally about the course. You will also meet your Personal Tutor. A series of activities will follow this meeting to assist you with choosing your modules and settling into your new environment. Please see the download links on the right of this page.

Please note that if you are holding a Conditional offer of study, it is important that you inform us as soon as you have evidence of having met your Conditions of offer e.g. IELTS or Degree results.

The regulations for each MA Programme specify that certain modules are core (compulsory). Additionally, all MA students must take a Dissertation module which also includes a series of Dissertation Support sessions. All other modules are approved (optional).

The total number of credits which you can take is 120 for a Diploma and 180 for an MA.

Please see the Intro Week Timetable for details of activities and what you need to do during Intro Week, in order to complete your registration.

We are looking forward to meeting you in September and wish you all the best with your pre-arrival arrangements!
