Graduate Study Days

Departmental Graduate Study Days happen once a semester and provide a fantastic opportunity for graduates and staff to share their ongoing research. Graduate students present their research, performances and compositions to other members of the music department. These presentations are a requirement for students upgrading or nearing completion of their research.

Presentations normally take the form of a 20 minute spoken paper with an additional ten minutes for questions. However, other formats are possible: for example, short performances and/or playing of compositions often accompanies spoken papers.

A call for papers goes out via email to all graduates once a semester, and selection of speakers is based on abstract submission to the Head of Graduate Studies.
