7-10th January 2008 Peter Cropper masterclasses with European String Quartets
Peter Cropper is holding a week of masterclasses with 3 European string quartets at the Music Department in the first week of January.
The following sessions are open to students and the public in the lecture room (free of charge):
Monday 7th January 2008 2.30 – 4.30 pm (Kamus Quartet)
Tuesday 8th January 2008 2.30 – 4.30 pm (Cameleon Quartet)
Wednesday 9th January 2008 2.30 – 4.30 pm (Galatea Quartet)
The Cameleon Quartet (Poland), Kamus Quartet (Finland) and Galatea Quartet (Switzerland) are participating in the European Chamber Music Academy study programme, which provides residential masterclasses led by world-class musicians.
Concert
Two of the quartets will be performing some of the pieces they have been studying during the week at the Crucible Studio on Thursday 10th January at 7:45pm.
Mozart: Adagio and Fugue in C minor KV. 546 (Kamus Quartet)
Mozart: String Quartet No.23 in F major KV 590 (Kamus Quartet)
Beethoven: String Quartet No. 15 in A minor op.132 (Cameleon Quartet)
