Music Technology Research

In addition to a reputation for acousmatic music, USSS is committed to research into the performance of electroacoustic music. USSS has worked with industry partner, DACS (Digital Audio and Computer Systems Ltd.) to build a custom sound diffusion console.

USSS seeks active researchers in the following fields:

• Software Tools for Composers
• Acousmatic Musicology and Analysis
• Multi-touch / alternative interfaces for composers and performers

A recent USSS paper on sound diffusion practice was presented at the International Computer Music Conference in Miami 2004 (see right).
