Postgraduate performance

Are you looking to take performance to a higher level either as a soloist or as part of an established ensemble? Postgraduate performance opportunities include the new taught MA in Music Performance and research programmes at MMus and PhD level.
Master of Arts (Taught Course)
A taught master's degree (one year in duration for full-time students, two years part-time) is available. Teachers on the course include Mary Dullea and members of Ensemble 360, recently appointed as ensemble-in-residence. We welcome applications from both solo performers (including keyboard accompanists) and ensembles, such as string quartets and piano trios.
Master of Music (Research)
Students who already have an established interest can concentrate on this topic by taking the one-year MMus (Research) option (two years part-time). The primary focus of the student's work is on preparation for a recital of approximately 45 minutes. Performance tuition is provided. Students then select from the following three options: Composition, Dissertation or Folio. The folio often lends itself well to the MM us in performance as the student can work on a number of pieces of written and analytical work that enhance the performance.
PhD
Well-qualified and experienced students can embark on a PhD course, which - according to University regulations - normally lasts three years full-time. The PhD in Performance Studies is examined through presentation of a dissertation and an extensive recital.
