The Erwin Stengel Prize for Academic Excellence in Psychiatry

About the prize

Dr Matthew Impey with Dr Tom Farrow and Prof Peter Woodruff

The Erwin Stengel Prize was inaugurated in 2005 and is open to all SHOs on the Trent Rotation. To enter for the prize, researchers produce a critical review or paper on a research topic of relevance to clinical psychiatry. The review should be between 1500 and 2000 words and the inclusion of original data if available is encouraged, but not essential. The work must have been performed whilst on the Trent Rotation. The articles are assessed in competition and the prize of £100 is presented annually at the final Wednesday lunchtime research seminar of the autumn term. The winner then presents their research at this seminar and their name is added to the memorial plaque.
