Research

My main interest is in the pathogenesis of motor neurone disease (MND), and in particular, the role that dysregulation of vascular endothelial growth factor plays in motor neurone survival and degeneration. I am interested in the use of transcriptional profiling to explore the pathogenic mechanisms of disease. Current studies include using microarray analysis to determine factors underlying selective vulnerability of motor neurones, and profiling of non-neuronal cells in MND.
