Reporting Students who do not register/attend

The UK Government will requires colleges and universities to report students who do not register and attend.
- Your visa/residence permit names the institution for which you have a CAS to use in your visa application. You can not register nor study at any other institution.
- We will not permit you to register at the University of Sheffield without a
student visa naming this institution, or evidence that you have applied to extend your visa for the University of Sheffield. - To change to another institution, you must make a new visa application from within the UK. You must use the CAS number from the institution you wish to attend.
- Universities must inform immigration authorities of students (with visas for that institution) who do not register.
- If you defer entry, the University will inform the UKBA of this. You may need to re-apply for a new visa when you come for your new course start date – see point b (above).
IF YOU GO ELSEWHERE LET US KNOW SO THAT WE CAN LET THE IMMIGRATION AUTHORITIES KNOW THAT YOU ARE NOT ACTING ILLEGALLY.
- We must inform immigration authorities if you do not attend lectures/seminars etc regularly. Students who take time off from their studies (leave of absence) are expected to return to their home country. This will also be reported. You will need a new visa to re-enter the UK.
- The University of Sheffield is working hard to ensure that new Government requirements are fair to students but must comply with them, as all other universities/ colleges will be compelled to do.
