Short-Term Students

1. Six months or less:

1. Students registered with the University for three months or less, are classed by the health authorities as temporary residents and qualify for limited NHS treatment. The University Health Service will see temporary residents requiring medical treatment, other practices may not.
2. Short-Term Students – Please contact University Health Centre if you require medical attention during your stay.
3. In case of emergency treatment elsewhere in UK, state that the University Health Service is your general practice.
4. Adequate medical insurance should be taken out before arrival in the UK.

2. Full time students - 6 months or more

All full-time students registered in higher education for 6 months or more are eligible for care under the National Health Service. Medical insurance is, therefore, not required (However, please see 'Insurance')
