Local Foods

`Dinner´ is used to mean a cooked evening meal but is also used by some British people to mean a hot lunch.

`Supper´ is used to mean `high tea´ or late night snack.

`Tea´ is used to mean either the main evening meal or a light afternoon meal with bread and cakes. `Tea´ as a meal does not always include a cup of tea!

Evening Meals may be early – 5.00 or 6.00pm – especially in Halls of Residence. Food is not served again until breakfast.
