The University is committed to taking all practicable steps to ensure that disabled and dyslexic students can participate in their studies without disadvantage and make full use of the University´s academic and support services. In view of this, you should inform the University of any additional support requirements at the earliest opportunity.

2. If you require information or advice, please contact the Disability and Dyslexia Support Service section of the Student Services Department. Staff in this section have responsibility for overseeing the support process, for example applying for funding or liaising with academic departments.

4. Funding for Support - The Disabled Students´ Allowance (DSA) may be available to home undergraduate and postgraduate students whose course is equivalent to at least 50% of a full-time course. DSA is intended to assist students to benefit fully from a course of study. The allowance covers costs relating to educational support needs. Please contact Disability and Dyslexia Support Service for more information.
Some disabled students may be able to claim Social Security Benefits. Please ask at the Union of Students´ Advice Centre.
Overseas students, including EU students are not eligible for DSAs. The University has established a fund to help meet the related costs of studying with a disability. Most of the University facilities and provisions will be available to you apart from those that are specifically for UK students only, e.g. Access to Learning Fund.

5. See "Academic Diary and Student Handbook 2009-10" (taught students) or "Code of Practice for Research and Degree Programmes" (research students and supervisors) for details.
