1. The Union makes every effort to reflect the views and interests of international students.
   
2. Sheffield Union is one of the few Unions in the country that has a full-time International Students’ Officer, the only Union to have both an International Students’ Committee and welfare support dedicated to international students.
3. The International Students’ Committee (ISC) work alongside the Union Officer to develop events, activities and bring international student issues to the attention of the Union and the University.
   
4. The Union’s International Students’ Officer and International Students’ Committee members are elected by fellow students every year.
5. Fadi Dakkak, the Union’s International Students’ Officer for this year, is an international student elected by students in March 2012. He will take a year away from his studies and work full-time for international students in this University and is employed by the Union of Students.
   
   Fadi is based in the Union's International Student's Office (through the Source on Level 3 of the Union building, within the sports and students activities area). All Union Officers operate an open door policy - this means you can contact Fadi at any time to discuss your ideas and thoughts with regards to international students in the University and the Union of Students.
