The Nuclear FiRST DTC involves staff from the Schools of Chemistry and Materials at the University of Manchester and The Departments of Engineering Materials and Civil Engineering at The University of Sheffield.

The research interests of the participating staff broadly cover the whole nuclear fuel cycle, including:
