Biography
I joined the University of Sheffield as a Lecturer in Orthoptics in 1991 and was involved in setting up the BMedSci (Orthoptics) course. Since 1995 I have worked part time (currently 60% FTE). I set up the MMedSci (Orthoptics) by distance learning course, now called the MMedSci (Vision and Strabismus) by distance learning course and am currently the Course Director.
Research Interests
I am employed on a teaching contract and my research tends to revolve around MMedSci student projects and BMedSci student projects.
Teaching Interests
I am interested in all aspects of teaching, particularly assessment and the ways in which distance learning may be enhanced to provide a better student experience.
Professional Activities
I am a member of the British and Irish Orthoptic Society and registered with the Health Professions Council as a state registered orthoptist.
