The Academic Unit of Supportive Care

The Academic Unit of Supportive Care is responsible for a wide range of academic and clinical activities. Its multi-disciplinary research programme includes clinical trials, needs assessment and service evaluations, narrative methods, methodological development, and information services. The AUSC is involved in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, and the training of specialist registrars in palliative care. AUSC also offers supervision for higher degrees. Our senior staff are Professor Sam Hjelmeland Ahmedzai, Chair of Palliative Medicine, and Dr Bill Noble, Macmillan Senior Lecturer.
