Why come to an Open Day?

Activities at our Open Days

If you're making a decision about where to study and spend the next few years of your life, it makes sense to check the place out.

Exhibitions and talks

There's a chance to find out information about many areas of student life from admissions, student accommodation and finance, through to careers, sports facilities and our Students' Union.

We also host a range of talks between 10am and 4pm covering areas such as student life, accommodation and finance, as well as information about the Students' Union and a general welcome to Sheffield. There will also be drop-in sessions for parents and mature students between 11am and 1pm in our Octagon Centre.

Meet the staff

You can attend a talk given by the department in which you are interested in studying. You will find out more about your chosen course, meet departmental staff and maybe ask a few questions.

City campus

Sheffield is a vibrant city and the University's campus is right on the edge of the centre - you could have a look round while you're here as it's only about a 10 minute walk away, or a couple of minutes if you catch a tram or bus.

Top-rated facilities

The University's facilities are first class. You could spend part of your visit checking out the library, the sports centre or the Students' Union on one of our campus tours.

Leafy green suburbs

Most of our students live in the very pleasant and leafy suburbs on the west of the city. You can board a shuttle coach to visit and take a tour of our student accommodation, and find out what could be on your doorstep.
