Degrees with Employment Experience (DEE) - Students

Want to increase your employability, develop you personal and professional skills with the added bonus of a financial incentive? These are just some of the advantages of taking a Degree with Employment Experience.

So what is a Degree with Employment Experience (DEE)?

DEE is a placement year spent in employment and provides an excellent opportunity to apply your knowledge, understanding and skills that you have developed during the earlier stages of your degree. A year in employment will also enable you to further develop your transferable skills, become more commercially aware and may even secure your entry onto the graduate career ladder.

DEE will also be added to your degree title.

When would I take a Placement Year?

Placements are usually taken in the penultimate year of study, so most commonly at the end of your 2nd year of studying your degree.

Please note: if you are interested in undertaking a Degree with Employment Experience it is important that you discuss this with your personal tutor first as your department must give its approval.
