This workshop on Global Health Governance (GHG) in Sheffield will examine the current state of global health governance in relation to disease monitoring and control, and propose policy-relevant analysis of how we might better govern these health priorities at the global level. The workshop will involve leading academics and policy makers from diverse disciplines such as politics, medicine, political economy, political philosophy, sociology, international relations and development, including input from health practitioners as much as from specialists in the social sciences.

- Levels of Analysis in Health Security: Human, (Inter)national and Global Health Security (Simon Rushton - Aberystwyth University)
- Security without Emergencies: Global Public Health and Security as a Value (Jonathan Herington – Australia National University)
- Global Health Security Interrupted: Indonesia, Viral Sovereignty, & the WHO (Adam Kamradt-Scott & Kelley Lee – London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine)
- Mediating Risk Through the International Health Regulations and Biopolitical Surveillance (Jeremy Youde - University of Minnesota Duluth)
- Governing Health Risk by Buying Behaviour (Sophie Harman – City University London)
- Between Planning and Reality: Preparing for the Pandemic That Never Was (Thomas Abraham - University of Hong Kong)
- TBA (Stefan Elbe – University of Sussex)
There is a small administrative charge of £5.00 for students and £10.00 for non-students. Refreshments will be provided including a light buffet lunch.
