Transferring
Politics, like all departments, has limits upon the number of students it can admit to both single honours and dual honours degrees each year. Students do not have the right to transfer into the Department and admission is at the discretion of the Deputy Director of Undergraduate Studies.
1. Transferring into Politics (from outside the University)
Transferring into a single or dual Politics degree from another university
High demand for places on all of our Politics degrees means that we are unable to offer places to applicants seeking to transfer into the second year from outside the University of Sheffield.
Applicants from other universities are able to apply to begin any of our degrees from level one and should apply through UCAS in the usual way. Applicants are advised to discuss their experiences in higher education elsewhere in their personal statement and to provide brief insight into their reasons for wanting to restart their studies at Sheffield. If possible, it is also a good idea to secure a reference from your current university.

If you have any questions that are not addressed here, please contact Sarah Moga (s.l.moga@sheffield.ac.uk).
If you are currently a student within another department at the University of Sheffield and would like to transfer into Politics, visit the information listed in the Prospective Undergraduates section of our web pages.
