Honorary Professor - D Marquand

Professor David Marquand (FBA, FRHistS, FRSA)

David Marquand has been an Honorary Professor in the Department of Politics since 1997. He was a Professor in the Department from 1991 to 1996, after which he became Principal of Mansfield College, Oxford until his retirement in 2003. He was Labour MP for Ashfield between 1966 and 1977. From 1977 to 1978 he was Chief Adviser to the Secretary-General of the European Commission. He is a prolific author and commentator on contemporary British politics.
