Theatre

Sheffield hosts some of the best theatre in the country, with the largest regional theatre complex outside of London.

The Crucible, Lyceum and Studio theatres have won awards for their groundbreaking productions which include drama, dance, comedy and music.

The theatres are in the heart of the city centre and offer affordable student tickets.

Museums and galleries

Sheffield is home to award-winning art galleries and museums, including the spectacular Millennium Galleries - a city centre venue for the visual arts, craft and design.

There is also the Graves Gallery, Site Gallery and Weston Park Museum.

Cinema

The city is film-goers' heaven, with more than 40 cinema screens to choose from.

If you like alternative film, there is the Showroom Cinema, which is the largest independent cinema outside London.

There are also multi-screen cinemas in the city centre, at Valley Centertainment and at Meadowhall. Our very own Students' Union cinema shows four films a week and holds 400 people.

Nightlife

There is a wide variety of nightlife – from legendary club nights like Gatecrasher to smaller, more intimate venues that specialise in live music.

Larger venues such as the Sheffield Arena host world-renowned bands.
