Coming to one of our open days is a great chance to find out more about the department, meet the staff and students, see our facilities and get a feel for the University of Sheffield and the city as a whole.
There are two different types of open days: University Open Days, which you can attend before you apply, and Departmental Open Days, which we will invite you to after you've received an offer.
Before you apply
The University of Sheffield runs a series of open days throughout the summer and into October, so that students who are interested in coming here can take a look around.
You can book a visit to the Department of Psychology by clicking the link below, choosing a date and selecting one of the Psychology talks.
As well as attending a talk where you can find out more about our courses, you will be able to take a tour of the department where you can talk to staff and students about our teaching and research, visit some of our teaching areas, and see some of our other facilities.
You can also take a tour of the campus, the accommodation and the city, and attend talks on a range of subjects including accommodation, finance and sport.
If you wish to visit the department outside of the university open days, do feel free to contact the Admissions Secretary at firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange this.
After you apply
If you're offered a place to study with us, you'll be invited to a Departmental Open Day. Below is a typical itinerary:
You'll also have the opportunity to visit our student accommodation, take part in a campus tour and tours of other facilities, and chat with staff and our current students face-to-face. Our open days generally take place between January and April and include the opportunity to visit the University's Experience Sheffield exhibition.
In the meantime, watch the video above for a virtual tour of the department made by Psychology students.
The University's travel pages explain the best ways to get here. Parking is limited around the University but it is very easy to get to the campus on the Supertram, either from the railway or bus station, or using one of the Park and Ride facilities on the way into the city.
