Qualifications
Erin is a first-year PhD student in health psychology. She received her Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Psychology, and a minor in Philosophy, from the University of Victoria in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. After that, she moved to the UK where she completed a Master´s of Science in psychological research methods at the University of Sheffield.
Research Interests:
Erin´s research interests include quality of life and psychological issues encountered by patients waiting for, and those who receive, a liver transplant. Her PhD work will explore how positive personal qualities, along with demographic, disease-related, social, and family factors can contribute to quality of life and psychological outcomes post-liver transplant, and to what degree liver transplant recipients experience positive personal growth after the operation. Erin´s hope is that this research will shed some light on the quality of life and psychological issues liver transplant patients face so that more information will become available for patients to cope with the illness and transplant experiences.
Collaborators:
This research is being conducted in collaboration with researchers at the Institute of Liver Studies at King´s College Hospital in London, UK.
