The University of Sheffield
Research Exchange for the Social Sciences

Public Engagement & Community/University partnerships

Research ExchangeThe Research Exchange aims to facilitate academics within the Faculty of Social Sciences to share their work with the public. This form of public engagement is a two-way process, involving interaction and listening to generate learning for mutual benefit. The RESS team has a wide range of experience in building community/university partnerships and working collaboratively with local communities both nationally and internationally.

We support activities to bring social science research into the public realm. We are proactive in reviewing and contributing to current dialogues and academic discourses around community engagement and participation in research. We are also reactive to suggestions of engagement and collaboration, and continue to support public lectures and events through our role as the Faculty of Social Sciences gateway.
