R&IS Training and Development 2013

This page contains details of the planned training and development opportunities available to R&IS staff alone. Exact dates, times and locations will be provided closer to the time. Where possible, sessions will take place between 12-2pm and, with the exception of “Science for non-scientists”, will last no more than an hour. Booking form is available at the bottom of this page.

Impact case studies-why do we need them and what makes a good one? 18th July 2013 -  Meeting Room 1 12-1pm Demonstrating the wider impact and value for money of research is becoming increasingly important in the current economic climate. Science for non-scientists January 2014 Everything that you wanted to know but were afraid to ask! A key training session for staff working with FCM/FCP/FCE who haven’t got a science background but would like to have a greater basic understanding of biological sciences
Excel (advanced) February 2014 A master class for staff who are regular users of Excel but would like to learn more about advanced functions
Excel (beginners) TBC

An introductory training session focused on staff with no/little experience of using Excel
