Why is Management Information important to the University (centrally and in departments)?

What information does R&IS provide about research grant capture and expenditure?

This session will give an overview of the monthly and six monthly information provided to Faculty Directors of R&I; expenditure information provided by Research Finance, academic planning pack information and MI View, which is an online system which enables individuals in academic departments to access grant information directly.

MI View provides management information via a single on-line location and is accessed through UReports in MUSE. MI View provides management information at University, Faculty and Departmental level from as far back as 2003.

This session will summarise the value of the different MI we provide and also enable attendees to make use the most out of MI View in a research data context. The session will be delivered by Deborah McClean, Head of Operations. Deborah is responsible for provision and analysis of Management Information and its interpretation. She works closely with other Professional Services colleagues to ensure that we have a 'joined up' approach and do not confuse academic departments with conflicting MI!
