Research and Development (R&D)
What is R&D?
Research and Development (R&D) is undertaking a set piece of research work with an existing or prospective external organisations that you wish to collaborate with to develop a longer-term partnership. This research can either be fully funded by an external partner (contract R&D) or funded with external third parties such as the research councils (collaborative R&D). This partnership or collaborative way of working will give benefits to your own research as well as that of the external partner.
How do I undertake R&D?
We currently have funding available to support both contract and collaborative R&D with external partners:
- IIKE Funding Schemes (HEIF)
- EPSRC Impact Acceleration Account (IAA)
- BBSRC Sparking Impact Award (SIA)
To apply for R&D funding, please contact your faculty Business Development Manager.
For further information and to apply for a research grant to collaborate with external parters, please contact the Research Development Team.
