The Masterclass is intended to advance the methodological state of the art in the discipline of linguistics and to educate a group of researchers most likely to benefit from applying experimental methods in their ongoing and future research.
Due to the interactive, hands-on nature of the sessions the number of participants in the Masterclass is limited to 25. Those interested in attending should submit the registration/application form including a brief statement (up to 500 words) describing how the masterclass methods and topics will impact their research and career goals. PhD student applicants should also submit one letter of recommendation from a faculty member familiar with their academic work and research interests.
Those registering for the multilevel modelling workshop should be aware that this is a set of rather advanced statistical techniques. Knowledge of basic statistics is essential and working knowledge of regression models is desirable. If you are unsure whether your statistical knowledge is sufficient to participate, please contact the organizers at masterclass@sheffield.ac.uk.
Applications should be sent to masterclass@sheffield.ac.uk by 1 February 2010. They will be reviewed by the Masterclass organizing committee and participants will be notified of acceptance by 15 February 2010. Together with your acceptance onto the Masterclass we will send out room-booking and payment information.
